Appointment of Council
- The Council will consist of 27
appointments made by the President:
- Appointees shall represent as much diversity
as possible and should include some appointees senior enough
in the university to speak with
independent voices;
- The concerns of faculty, staff and students
should be represented on the Council;
- Members will be appointed
by the President from a list of nominees. The
process will include solicitation of nominations from existing
groups representing faculty, staff and students and from
individuals, inside
and outside the university. The process will include web-based
opportunities for nominations as well as full publicity of
the nominations process
and opportunities to fax or mail in nominations.
- Ex officio and special liaison members
will be appointed as needed to complete the work of the Council
and to address emerging
issues.
- Staggered terms shall be set for Council
members, to insure that the entire Council does not turn over
in the same year.
- A Chair of the Council will be proposed by the
Council and named by the President.
- Nominees unwilling to serve on the Council shall
remove their names from nomination.
